Continuing her exploration of materials and embracing the possibility of an open ended repeat, Elise Ferguson has teamed up with Kingsland Editions to create a new ceramic limited edition. These oversize artist tiles can be assembled in a variety of combinations or stand alone. Playing around with texture, gloss and dimensionality, the sculpture clay is left raw and unglazed, in its natural state. When paired with the glossy sheen of the pattern it forms an intriguing combination standing apart from more conventional glazed tiles.Elise Ferguson (b. 1964 Richmond, VA) currently lives and works in NYC. She has exhibited extensively in the United States and Europe, including solo exhibitions with Halsey McKay Gallery, Romer Young Gallery, ODD ARK- LA, White Columns, 57W57 Arts and Shrine NYC. Her work has been included in group exhibitions at Luhring Augustine, Team Gallery, Sculpture Center, Contemporary Art Center - Cincinnati, Andrew Kreps, Bowdoin College Museum of Art in Brunswick, Maine, Lothringer Dreizen - Munich, Ikast Kunstpakhuset - Denmark, Albada Jelgersma - Amsterdam. She has been featured in The New York Times, Artforum, Modern Painters, The Wall Street Journal and New York Magazine. Her work is in the public collections of Progressive Art Collection, The Cleveland Clinic, Microsoft, Google, the RISD Museum and SUNY Albany Museum.
